The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ₹10 and ₹500 denomination Banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Governor. The design of these notes is similar in all respects to ₹10 and ₹500 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. All banknotes in the denomination of ₹10 issued by the Reserve Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender. All banknotes in the denomination of ₹500 in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series issued by the Reserve Bank in the past will also continue to be legal tender.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated March 28, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹36.40 lakh (Rupees Thirty Six Lakh and Forty Thousand only) on Aryavart Bank, Lucknow (the bank) for contravention of provisions of Section 26A read with Section 51(1) of of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (BR Act). This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 51(1) of the BR Act.

The weekly schedule of auctions to be held during the quarter along with the name of States/UTs who have confirmed participation and tentative amounts indicated by them is as under:

Based on an assessment of the prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions, the Reserve Bank of India has decided to increase the aggregate limit, made available to the Standalone Primary Dealers (SPDs) under the Standing Liquidity Facility at the prevailing repo rate, from ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore, starting from April 02, 2025. The limit for individual SPDs is being conveyed to them separately. All other terms and conditions of the facility shall remain unchanged.
