Reserve Bank launches ‘100 Days 100 Pays’ Campaign for Return of Unclaimed Deposits
Balances in savings / current accounts which are not operated for 10 years, or term deposits not claimed within 10 years from date of maturity are classified as “Unclaimed Deposits”. These amounts are transferred by banks to “Depositor Education and Awareness” (DEA) Fund maintained by the Reserve Bank of India. The Reserve Bank, from time to time, through its public awareness initiatives, has been encouraging members of public to identify and approach the bank concern

Review of Requirement of Counter-Cyclical Capital Buffer
The framework on countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) was put in place by the Reserve Bank in terms of guidelines issued on February 5, 2015 wherein it was advised that the CCyB would be activated as and when the circumstances warranted, and that the decision would normally be pre-announced. Lending and Deposit Rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks - March 2023
Data on lending and deposit rates of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) (excluding regional rural banks and small finance banks) for the month of March 2023. Highlights: Lending Rates: The weighted average lending rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans of SCBs increased by 24 basis points (bps) from 9.00 per cent in January 2023 to 9.24 per cent in February 2023.
