The Reserve Bank of India has been conducting Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF) since September 2007 and consolidated results have been regularly disseminated on the Bank’s website in the form of web-articles. To promote transparency and research initiatives, Reserve Bank of India will now start disseminating the individual respondent-level forecasts from recent rounds of SPF (from round 61 onwards) after anonymising the forecasters’ personally identifiable information.

Data on sectoral deployment of bank credit for the month of March 2025 collected from 41 select scheduled commercial banks (SCBs), accounting for about 95 per cent of the total non-food credit deployed by all SCBs, are set out in Statements I and II. On a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, non-food bank credit as on the fortnight ended March 21, 2025, grew by 12.0 per cent as compared to 16.3 per cent during the corresponding fortnight of the previous year (i.e., March 22, 2024).

The survey collects current perceptions and one year ahead expectations of households on general economic situation, employment scenario, overall price situation, own income and spending from the households residing in the rural and semi-urban areas across 31 states/ UTs viz., NCT of Delhi, Telangana, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tripura, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Union Territory of Ladakh. The results of this survey provide useful inputs for monetary policy.

The Reserve Bank has launched the 45th round of the quarterly Services and Infrastructure Outlook Survey (SIOS) for the reference period April-June 2025. The survey assesses the business situation for the current quarter (Q1:2025-26) from selected companies in the services and infrastructure sectors in India and their expectations for the ensuing quarter (Q2:2025-26) based on qualitative responses on a set of indicators pertaining to demand conditions, financial conditions, employment conditions and the price situation. The outlook on key parameters for the two subsequent quarters (Q3:2025-26 and Q4:2025-26) are also covered.

Data on sectoral deployment of bank credit for the month of February 2025 collected from 41 select scheduled commercial banks, accounting for about 95 per cent of the total non-food credit deployed by all scheduled commercial banks, are set out in Statements I and II. On a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, non-food bank credit as on the fortnight ended February 21, 2025 grew at 12.0 per cent as compared to 16.6 per cent for the corresponding fortnight of the previous year (February 23, 2024).
