RBI imposes penalty on JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A., Mumbai for Violation of its Risk Management and Inter-Bank Dealings Guidelines
The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of ` 5.00 lakh on JP Morgan Chase, N.A., Mumbai (the bank), in exercise of the powers vested with it under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(b) read with Section 46(4)(i) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. The penalty has been imposed on the bank for contraventions of various directions and instructions issued by the Reserve Bank in respect of Risk Management and Inter Bank Dealings and Compliance Functions. RBI initiates Scrutiny of Three Banks for Alleged Violation of KYC Guidelines

Pay IT dues in advance at RBI or at authorised bank branches
The Reserve Bank of India has appealed to income tax assessees to remit their income tax dues sufficiently in advance of the due date. It has also stated that assessees can use alternate channels like select branches of agency banks or the facility of online payment of taxes offered by these banks. These will obviate the inconvenience involved in standing in long queues at the Reserve Bank offices. It is observed that the rush for remitting Income –Tax dues through th
