The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated May 06, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1.50 lakh (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand only) on The Nicholson Co-operative Town Bank Ltd., Tamil Nadu (the bank) for non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Loans and advances to directors, their relatives, and firms /concerns in which they are interested’ and ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the BR Act.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated May 06, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) on Sree Harihareshwara Urban Co-operative Bank Limited, Harihar, Karnataka (the bank) for contravention of provisions of Section 31 read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (BR Act). This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the BR Act.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has, by an order dated May 02, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) on Siddheshwar Urban Co-operative Bank Maryadit, Sillod, Aurangabad, Maharashtra (the bank) for non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Placement of Deposits with Other Banks by Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks (UCBs)’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the BR Act.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has, by an order dated May 02, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹7.50 lakh (Rupees Seven Lakh Fifty Thousand only) on The Pusad Urban Cooperative Bank Limited, Pusad, Maharashtra (the bank) for non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Income Recognition, Asset Classification, Provisioning and Other Related Matters – UCBs’, ‘Co-operative Banks- Interest Rates on Deposits’, and specific directions issued by RBI under ‘Supervisory Action Framework (SAF)’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the BR Act.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has, by an order dated April 03, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1.00 lakh (Rupees One Lakh only) on Shri Ganesh Sahakari Bank Limited, Nashik, Maharashtra (the bank) for contravention of the provisions of Section 26A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (BR Act) and non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the BR Act.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has, by an order dated March 25, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹0.75 lakh (Rupees Seventy Five Thousand only) on The Jalna People’s Cooperative Bank Ltd., Jalna, Maharashtra (the bank) for non-compliance with the RBI Directions on ‘Gold Loan – Bullet Repayment – Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks (UCBs)’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંકે 27 માર્ચ 2025 ના આદેશ દ્વારા પોરબંદર કોમર્શિયલ કો-ઓપરેટિવ બેંક લિ., જિલ્લો પોરબંદર, ગુજરાત (બેંક) પર ‘તમારા ગ્રાહકને ઓળખો (કેવાયસી)' અંગે ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંક દ્વારા બહાર પાડવામાં આવેલા નિશ્ચિત નિર્દેશોના ઉલ્લંઘન બદલ ₹50,000/- (રૂપિયા પચાસ હજાર પૂરા) નો નાણાકીય દંડ લાદેલ છે. આ દંડ ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંક દ્વારા બેંકિંગ વિનિયમન અધિનિયમ, 1949ની કલમ 46(4)(i) અને કલમ 56ની સાથે કલમ 47એ(1)(સી)ને વાંચતા, તે અંતર્ગત ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંકને પ્રાપ્ત થતી સત્તાનો ઉપયોગ કરીને લગાવ્યો છે.

ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંકે તારીખ 27 માર્ચ 2025ના આદેશ દ્વારા, ધી સંતરામપુર અર્બન કો-ઓપરેટિવ બેંક લિ., સંતરામપુર, જિલ્લો. મહીસાગર, ગુજરાત (બેંક) પર ‘સહકારી બેંકો - થાપણો પર વ્યાજ દર' અને ‘તમારા ગ્રાહકને ઓળખો (કેવાયસી)' પર ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંક દ્વારા જારી કરવામાં આવેલા કેટલાક નિર્દેશોના ઉલ્લંઘન બદલ ₹1.00 લાખ (રૂપિયા એક લાખ પૂરા)નો નાણાકીય દંડ લાદેલ છે. આ દંડ ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંક દ્વારા બેંકિંગ વિનિયમન અધિનિયમ, 1949ની કલમ 46(4)(i) અને કલમ 56ની સાથે કલમ 47એ(1)(સી)ને વાંચતા, તે અંતર્ગત ભારતીય રિઝર્વ બેંકને પ્રાપ્ત થતી સત્તાનો ઉપયોગ કરીને લગાવ્યો છે.
