The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed, by an order dated August 14, 2023, a monetary penalty of ₹2.00 lakh (Rupees Two Lakh only) on The Midnapore People’s Co-operative Bank Ltd., West Bengal (the bank) for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on ‘Exposure Norms and Statutory / Other Restrictions – UCBs’ and ‘Know Your Customer (KYC) Direction, 2016’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of Section 47 A (1) (c) read with Section 46 (4) (i) and Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने 02 ऑगस्ट, 2023 रोजीच्या आदेशाद्वारे महाबळेश्वर अर्बन को-ऑपरेटिव्ह बँक लिमिटेड, महाबळेश्वर, महाराष्ट्र (बँक) वर बैंकिंग रेग्युलेशन कायदा, 1949 (BR कायदा) च्या कलम 56 सह वाचलेल्या कलम 20A चच्या तरतुदी, सुपरवायजरी ॲक्शन फ्रेमवर्क (SAF) अंतर्गत आरबीआईने जारी केलेले विशिष्ट निर्देश आणि ‘ठेव खात्यांची देखभाल’ आणि ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’ यासंदर्भात भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने जारी केलेल्या निर्देशांचे उल्लंघन केल्यामुळे ₹2 लाख (केवळ दोन लाख रुपये) चा आर्थिक दंड ठोठावला आहे.
