Reserve Bank of India to distribute Coins through Lions Club in Andheri
In a unique effort to reach coins to the public, the Reserve Bank of India has made arrangements for providing rupee coins in Andheri (East) through Lions Club of Marol. Coins will be distributed on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 from 10.30 A.M. at the premises of the Lions Club at 2, Mufaddar, Church Road, Saifee Park, Marol, Andheri (East), Mumbai- 400 059. The Reserve Bank of India will shortly be issuing Rs.10 denomination notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series bearing the signature of Dr. Bimal Jalan, Governor with capital letter 'P' inset in both numbering panels. Except for this change, the design of Rs. 10 notes being issued now are similar to those issued earlier in the existing design. Exchange of Soil Notes - RBI's Special Drive
The Byculla Office of the Reserve Bank of India is launching a special drive from December 1, 1998 for exchange of soiled, cut and mutilated notes in the denomination of Re.1, Rs.2 and Rs.5. The admissible exchange value in accordance with RBI Note Refund Rules 1975 will be paid in the form of coins across the counter.
