Issue of Rs.100/- notes in Mahatma Gandhi series with capital letter `B' inset in numbering panels
The Reserve Bank of India will shortly be issuing Rs.100/- notes in Mahatma Gandhi series with capital letter `B' inset in both numbering panels bearing the signature of Dr.Bimal Jalan, Governor. Except for this change the design of Rs 100/- notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to those issued earlier in the Mahatma Gandhi series. RBI caution about reproduction of Currency Notes
It has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank of India that toys with the reproduction of bank notes of Rs.1, 2, 5 and 50 are being sold in the market. The Reserve Bank has cautioned the members of public that reproduction of bank notes and selling/possessing the toys/items looking like bank notes is an offence under the law. Considering the good response from the public to these efforts, it has been decided to repeat such mobile distribution of coins every week at
