Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had, in May 2015, advised all public-sector and select private and foreign banks to appoint Internal Ombudsman (IO) as an independent authority to review complaints that were partially or wholly rejected by the respective banks. Banks to keep their branches in rural and semi-urban areas open on Sunday (July 30, 2017) in the State of Maharashtra
In order to facilitate collection of insurance premiums on crops from farmers, all the banks, including Regional Rural Banks and Co-operative Banks are advised to keep their branches in rural and semi-urban areas open on Sunday i.e July 30, 2017. If any bank branch observes Monday as weekly off, that bank branch shall stay open on Monday, July 31, 2017, as it is the last date for payment of crop insurance premium. Paytm Payments Bank Limited commences operations
Paytm Payments Bank Limited has commenced operations as a payments bank with effect from May 23, 2017. The Reserve Bank has issued a licence to the bank under Section 22 (1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to carry on the business of payments bank in India.
