The Reserve Bank had issued a press release dated December 01, 2022, on Voluntary Surrender of Certificate of Registration (CoR) by NBFCs (including HFCs) for cancellation enclosing application form and indicative checklist. The Reserve Bank has since launched the PRAVAAH portal on May 28, 2024, to make it convenient for any individual or entity to apply online for various regulatory approvals and clearances in a seamless manner. As the application for voluntary surrender of CoR for cancellation is available in the said portal, the applicant NBFC (including HFCs) may upload the application form along with the documents complete in all respects as indicated in the checklist.

The Reserve Bank of India issued Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to Shree Mahalaxmi Urban Co-operative Credit Bank Ltd., Gokak vide Directive No. CO.DOS.SED.No.S4800/12-23-151/2024-2025 dated September 26, 2024, for a period of six months up to close of business on March 27, 2025 as modified from time to time, which were extended upto June 27, 2025 vide Directive No. DOR.MON/D-110/12.23.151/2024-25 dated March 25, 2025 and further extended upto September 27, 2025 vide Directive No. DOR.MON/D-16/12.23.151/2025-26 dated June 24, 2025. The Reserve Bank of India is satisfied that in the public interest, it is necessary to further extend the period of operation of the Directive beyond close of business on September 27, 2025.

The theme of the Conference was ‘Journey towards Economic Prosperity through the Path of Fiscal Consolidation’ and was attended by Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India; the Finance Secretaries of 28 States and two Union Territories; and other officials from the Ministry of Finance, Government of India; Controller General of Accounts and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Governor, Reserve Bank of India inaugurated the Conference.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has imposed, by an order dated September 15, 2025, a monetary penalty of ₹3.50 lakh (Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand only) on The Jalgaon District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., Maharashtra (the bank) for contravention of provisions of Section 20 read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (BR Act) and non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A(1)(c) read with Section 46(4)(i) and Section 56 of the BR Act.
